Neal & Massy Guyana Ltd. wins basketball tournament!

After qualifying for the quarterfinals of the 2011 inter-organization basketball championships at the Cliff Anderson sports hall, Guyana, Neal & Massy Guyana ltd. was expected to advance to the semi-finals. Not only did they make it to the semi-finals, but also became the Champions of the event.

 

Sunday 5 June, marked the beginning of the Inter-Organization Basketball Tournament; a league for organizations. It continued into Wednesday 8 June into the early morning of Thursday. The tournament was organized by VP Sports Update at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).

 

Some final teams included Neal & Massy Guyana ltd alongside defending champions Guyana Power & Light. However, Neal & Massy was the last team standing after having scored a 21-12 victory against John Fernandes Limited.

 

National Forward, Royston Siland scored 6 points along with Travis “Cook-Up” Foster who scored an additional 6. Other team members included shooting guard, Stephan Gillis and former sharp shooter, Frank Belle.

 

VP Update’s Vijay Panday told Kaieteur Sport that a basketball league for organizations is scheduled to begin on July 1. This event will include all top organizations from the final week of the Guyana tournament, which will be able to compete for various cash prizes.
